Economy Blueprint: Building Costs, Trade Networks & Gold per Second

Checked

Gold funds your Defense Posts, Warships, and ultimate Nuclear Silos. Blindly placing factories past the diminishing return ceiling will bleed your treasury dry.

Passive Income vs. Commercial Infrastructure

Every sovereign nation in RoFront receives a baseline passive income injected into the treasury each second:

  • Baseline Passive Income: 1,000 Gold / second (guaranteed and non-depletable).
  • Match Multipliers: On servers running 2x speed modes, this baseline scales to 2,000 Gold / second.

Passive gold sustains early territorial expansion, but waging continent-scale warfare requires building a connected commercial network of Cities, Factories, and Ports.

Tiered Building Pricing: The Cost Escalation Curve

Building costs do not stay fixed at 125,000 Gold. In RoFront, structure costs increase across four strict price tiers as your nation expands:

Upgrading an existing structure in-place follows the exact same tiered schedule as founding a brand-new facility.

Factory Road Networks: The 10-Factory Hard Cap

Factories act as ground transport hubs, automatically generating trade trucks that travel along auto-paved road networks between your cities and neighboring trade partners.

The Vehicle Spawn Probability Ceiling

The engine calculates network dispatch probability according to the formula:

$$P(\text{dispatch per tick}) = 1 - e^{-0.1 \cdot N_{\text{factories}}}$$

Number of Factories: 1 3 5 8 10 12+
Dispatch Probability: 1.0% 2.6% 3.9% 4.7% 4.9% 5.0% (Hard Cap)

The Golden Rule of Industrial Investment

  • 1 to 5 Factories: Yield high marginal returns. Each factory noticeably increases active truck convoys and accelerates treasury accumulation.
  • 6 to 10 Factories: Diminishing returns set in. Truck convoys begin queueing at municipal intersections.
  • Above 10 Factories: Pure economic waste. The global road dispatch limit is capped at 5% per game tick. Building your 11th or 12th factory consumes 500,000 to 1,000,000 Gold while yielding virtually zero additional trucks.

Ports and Maritime Trade Routes

Building on coastal tiles activates the prompt: You reached the sea. Constructing a Port for 125,000 Gold unlocks maritime commercial trade and naval invasion mechanics.

Voyage Distance Multipliers

Unlike road trucks that suffer congestion, trade ships cross open ocean waters. Maritime trade payouts scale with nautical distance:

  • Connecting to a friendly port across an open ocean yields up to 3x the gold payout of an equivalent domestic road truck.
  • After a trade vessel visits 10 consecutive harbors, earnings experience a modest 5,000 Gold decay per stop, maintaining a guaranteed floor of 5,000 Gold per port call.

Protecting Your Trade Fleet

Trade ships and troop transport boats have zero combat capability. If hostile players deploy a 250,000 Gold Warship into your shipping corridors, your commercial fleet and any embarked landing forces will be intercepted and sunk instantly. Never establish maritime trade routes without naval escorts.

Strategic Action Checklist: Managing Your Gold

  1. Early Phase (125K - 375K Gold): Invest first 125,000 Gold into a City (+25K Cap). Once treasury reaches 375K cumulative, add a second City and your first coastal Port.
  2. Expansion Phase (200K - 1M Gold): Add factories one by one until you reach 5. Keep 150,000 Gold liquid at all times to place emergency Defense Posts.
  3. Late Phase (> 1M Gold): Cease industrial construction. Direct your treasury into Defense Posts along contentious borders and fund your first 1,000,000 Gold Missile Silo.
